Notice of Exemption Under the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes, and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999

Pursuant to Regulation 6 of the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes, and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999, I, Christopher John Thornborough, in exercise of powers delegated to me by WorkSafe New Zealand, hereby give notice that an exemption is granted to the Auckland International Airport Limited (AIAL), Fuel Hydrant System, subject to the conditions below.

This notice also serves purpose to replace the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 29 September 2016, Notice No. 2016-go5577, regarding previous exemption of the equipment. This exemption is subject to the following conditions:

  1. The affected pipeline is the Auckland International Airport Limited, Fuel Hydrant System, between the Joint Users Hydrant Installation and the Airport Apron as shown on Worley Fuel Network Plan drawing number 4241444-P-101 Revision E, in its entirety.
  2. The affected pipeline shall have all duties in relation to it including design, construction, operation, maintenance and inspection carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment (Pipelines).
  3. Regulations 1999 (notwithstanding (c)(i), (ii) and (iii) of the definition of “Pipeline” in those regulations). The Fuel Hydrant System shall be maintained with an up-to-date Pipeline Certificate of Fitness issued by an Inspection Body Recognised under the Pipelines Regulations.
  4. This exemption shall remain in force for a period of five years, until 13 December 2029, unless cancelled in writing, and will be reviewed annually.
