Pursuant to clause 27A of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Air Border) Order (No 2) 2020 (“Order”), I, Ashley Bloomfield, Director-General of Health, declare that the classes of persons listed in this notice, arriving in New Zealand by air, are exempt from the requirements for pre-departure COVID-19 testing or examination by a medical practitioner set out in clause 8(2B) of the Order.
Persons (excluding persons who arrive in New Zealand as aircrew members and are not ordinarily resident in New Zealand who fly both quarantine-free travel flights and other flights) whose journey by air begins or is taken to begin in the following countries or other places:
- the Cook Islands
- Federated States of Micronesia
- Marshall Islands
- New Caledonia
- Solomon Islands
The exemption takes effect at 11.59pm on 7 November 2021. At the time this exemption takes effect, the exemption made on 2 September 2021 by me entitled Exemption of Persons From Pre-departure Requirements Before Arriving in New Zealand by Air, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 2 September 2021 (New Zealand Gazette, 2 September 2021, Notice No. 2021-go3772) is revoked.
Subject to the terms of this exemption, all other provisions of the Order continue to apply until this exemption is revoked.
