Notice of Discontinued Official and Recorded Geographic Names

Pursuant to sections 10(1)(d), 24(2)(b) and 21(2) of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008 the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (“Board”) gives notice of ten discontinued official and recorded geographic names, as described in the schedule below.

These names relate to geographic feature types that the Board no longer has naming jurisdiction for, where the geographic feature no longer exists, or are a duplicate record, therefore they should not be official or recorded geographic names.

The Board’s final determinations on these discontinued geographic names took effect on 23 October 2025.
