Under section 7(1) of the Education and Training Act 2020, the Minister for Universities and Minister for Vocational Education give notice of the Tertiary Education Strategy 2025 as follows.

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Tertiary Education Strategy Notice 2025.
2. Under section 7(1) of the Education and Training Act, as the Minister for Universities and Minister for Vocational Education, we now issue the Tertiary Education Strategy 2025 (“Strategy”).
3. The Strategy sets out the Government’s:
1. long-term strategic direction for tertiary education, including—
1. economic goals;
2. social goals;
3. environmental goals;
4. the development aspirations of Māori and other population groups; and
2. current and medium-term priorities for tertiary education.
4. Under section 7(2) of the Education and Training Act 2020, we withdraw the Tertiary Education Strategy 2020 New Zealand Gazette, 13 November 2020, Notice No. 2020-go4283 and replace it with the new Tertiary Education Strategy 2025 issued under paragraph 2 of this notice.
5. The Tertiary Education Strategy 2025 can be viewed and downloaded from the Ministry of Education website at https://www.education.govt.nz/our-work/strategies-policies-and-programmes/tertiary-and-further-education/tertiary-education-strategy-tes.
