Notice of Change to Delivery of Collection Agency Functions Under the Resale Right for Visual Artists Act 2023
In the Notice of Appointment of the Collection Agency Under the Resale Right for Visual Artists Act 2023, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 29 May 2024, Notice No. 2024-go2531, the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage appointed Copyright Licensing Limited (trading as Copyright Licensing New Zealand) as the collection agency for the purposes of the Resale Right for Visual Artists Act 2023 and Resale Right for Visual Artists Regulations 2024, for a term commencing on 30 May 2024 and expiring on 30 June 2027.
Further to that notice, Appointment of the Collection Agency, pursuant to section 22(2) of the Resale Right for Visual Artists Act 2023, Copyright Licensing Limited has established a subsidiary organisation, Resale Royalties Aotearoa Limited. With the agreement of Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage, Copyright Licensing Limited has transferred the functions of the collection agency to Resale Royalties Aotearoa Limited for the purposes of the Resale Right for Visual Artists Act 2023 and Resale Right for Visual Artists Regulations 2024, for a term commencing on 1 December 2024 and expiring on 30 June 2027.
