Extension of Reporting Timeframes for Persons in Charge of Animals Under the National Animal Identification and Tracing Act 2012 in Northland, Auckland, Thames–Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, and Hawke’s Bay
Pursuant to section 34(2)(a) of the National Animal Identification and Tracing (NAIT) Act 2012 (“Act”), I Stephen Stuart, acting under delegated authority as Chief Executive of National Animal Identification and Tracing Limited, which is the designated NAIT organisation, give notice of alternative time limits to those prescribed by Regulations made under the Act for the provision of information by any person in charge of animals (PICA).
The alternative time limits apply only to those PICAs with NAIT animals located within the below areas affected by states of emergency (section 34(2)(a)(i) of the Act) declared at time of publication and/or affected by heavy rain and flooding, such that the NAIT organisation is satisfied that non-compliance with time limits is justified (section 34(2)(a)(ii) of the Act).

This extension of reporting timeframe hereby replaces those extensions in previous notices New Zealand Gazette, 30 January 2023, 2023-gs321 and New Zealand Gazette, 1 February 2023, 2023-gs354.

This extension comes into effect on the day after it is published in the New Zealand Gazette.
