Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (Fees, and Disciplinary and Prosecution Levy) Amendment Notice 2023
The Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (“Board”), under section 143 of the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006 (“Act”), issues the following notice to amend the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers (Fees, and Disciplinary and Prosecution Levy) Notice 2021, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 29 November 2021, Notice No. 2021-gs5150.
This notice is the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (Fees, and Disciplinary and Prosecution Levy) Amendment Notice 2023.
This notice comes into force on 31 January 2023.
This notice amends the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers (Fees, and Disciplinary and Prosecution Levy) Notice 2021 (“principal notice”).
The purpose of this notice is to replace the disciplinary and prosecution levy in paragraph 5(1) of the principal notice.
Disciplinary and prosecution levy replaced
(1) The Disciplinary and prosecution levy in paragraph 5(1) is revoked and the following Disciplinary and prosecution levy is substituted:

This notice is issued under sections 142 and 143 of the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006.

Under section 143 of the Act, the Board may impose a disciplinary and prosecution levy on all registered persons.
In 2021, the Board set the Disciplinary and prosecution levy at $300.00. Following a review of the levy, the Board has reduced the Disciplinary and prosecution levy to $275.00.
The new disciplinary and prosecution levy will apply from 1 February 2023 onwards.
