Pursuant to Regulation 26 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the Mātaitai Reserves at Moremore) Notice 2023.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on 22 September 2023.

3. Mātaitai Reserves

This notice applies to the two Mātaitai Reserves at Moremore that were declared by the Fisheries (Declaration of Mātaitai Reserves at Moremore and Appointment of Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki Notice 2005 (No. F328) (New Zealand Gazette, 11 August 2005, No.123, page 3009).

4. Appointment Cancelled

(1) The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has cancelled the appointment of Rangi Spooner as a tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the mātaitai reserves:

(2) The cancellation took effect at the end of 24 August 2023.

5. Appointment

(1) The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has appointed Titan Puna as a tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the mātaitai reserves.

(2) The appointment took effect on 25 August 2023.
