COVID-19 Public Health Response (Self-isolation Requirements and Permitted Work) Order 2022 Testing and Reporting – Relevant Persons

Pursuant to clause 30 and clause 11 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Self-isolation Requirements and Permitted Work) Order 2022 (“Order”), I, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Director-General of Health, hereby specify that for the purposes of the Order, a relevant person must undergo medical examination and testing for COVID-19 under clause 11(a) of the Order and report the results of testing to the Ministry of Health under clause 11(c) of the Order as specified on the Ministry of Health website as follows:

  • For COVID-19 cases as defined in clause 1(1), Part 1 of Schedule 1 of the Order: no current testing and reporting requirements;
  • For household contacts (see Schedule 2 of the Order), testing and reporting requirements are as follows:
    • When the first case of COVID-19 in the house gets to days 3 and 7 of their isolation, the household contact needs to get tested using a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and report their results;
    • If the household contact develops symptoms at any stage, they need to get tested using a RAT;
    • When a household contact has been tested using a RAT, they need to report the result of the test. This can be done on My Covid Record (Log into mycovidrecord.health.nz) or call 0800 222 478 and press option 3.
