COVID-19 Public Health Response (Self-isolation Requirements and Permitted Work) Order 2022—Exceptions from Requirement to Provide Authorisation Letter to Critical Workers

Pursuant to clause 30 and clause 24(3)(a) of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Self-isolation Requirements and Permitted Work) Order 2022 (“Order”), I, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Director-General of Health, hereby specify that clause 24: Authorisation of critical workers by registered business or service of the Order does not apply to the following types of service:

  • District health boards
  • General Practitioner practices
  • Pharmacies
  • Community health providers
  • New Zealand Police
  • Fire and Emergency New Zealand
  • Ambulance services
  • Managed Isolation and Quarantine Facilities
  • Aged Residential Facilities
  • Hospices
  • Other health care residential facilities
  • Health services provided at Youth Justice facilities, Corrections facilities, and Care and Protection facilities.

This notice will come into force at 11.59pm on 24 February 2022.
