Pursuant to section 32 of the Corrections Act 2004, the Minister of Corrections gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Corrections (Arohata Prison) Notice 2021.

2. Commencement

This notice takes effect from 5 April 2021.

3. Arohata Prison

The land and the parts of the buildings described in the Schedule are declared to be a corrections prison to be known as Arohata Prison.

4. Revocation

The Corrections (Arohata Prison) Notice 2017 (New Zealand Gazette, 16 March 2017, No. 29, 2017-go1146) is revoked.

Arohata Prison

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District containing 32.0552ha, more or less, situated in the City of Wellington, being Part Section 34, Porirua District, and being all the land comprised and described in Record of Title WN46C/286, Wellington Land Registry; and

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District containing 24.2862ha, more or less, situated in the City of Wellington, being Part Section 32, Porirua District, and being all the land comprised and described in Record of Title WN46C/384 (limited as to parcels), Wellington Land Registry.

This notice takes effect from 5 April 2021. The requirement for a new notice reflects the return of a portion of land back to Rimutaka Prison that was occupied by Arohata Prison.
