Under section 37B(1)(c) of the Biosecurity Act 1993, I vary the approval to receive all types of craft and cargo, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 22 December 2005, No. 210, page 5365, of Port of Lyttelton (located in Lyttelton Harbour and operated by Lyttelton Port Company Limited, CN: 408061) as a place of first arrival. Port of Lyttelton is approved as a place of first arrival to receive the following craft types:

  • Bulk carriers
  • Car carriers
  • Container vessels
  • General cargo vessels
  • Naval/military vessels
  • Project craft (i.e. dredges, rigs)
  • Passenger vessels
  • Recreational craft (i.e. yachts)
  • Tankers
  • Other vessels (i.e. fishing, research)

that are able to discharge the following cargo types:

  • Bulk cargo
  • Bulk liquids
  • Containers
  • General cargo
  • Live animals (zoo animals only)
  • Passengers, crew and baggage
  • Vehicles and machinery.

A copy of the written notice of approval may be inspected or obtained at the Ministry for Primary Industries, Charles Fergusson Tower, 34–38 Bowen Street, Wellington.
