Pursuant to section 98A of the Education Act 1989 (“Act”), I hereby amend the notice of alternative constitution for the Al-Madinah School Board of Trustees, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 14 April 2011, No. 51, page 1179, by revoking the text of the notice in its entirety and replacing it with the following text:

“1. Pursuant to section 98A of the Education Act 1989 I hereby approve the following constitution for the Al-Madinah School Board of Trustees:

• At least one and up to five people appointed by the Ministry of Education’s Director of Education for Auckland;
• up to two people appointed by the school’s proprietor; and
• the principal of the school.

2. Sections 102 and 104 of the Education Act 1989 will apply in respect of the Board.

3. The term of office for trustees appointed under this constitution will be for a term not exceeding three years”.

This notice shall come into effect on the date of publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
