Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989 and the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003, the NZ Transport Agency hereby makes the following bylaw.

Bylaw

1. Title and commencement—This bylaw may be cited as the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2017/13 and will come into force on and from 22 June 2017.

2. Amendment—The New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10* is hereby amended by:

• Inserting line 64 in Schedule 1 to read:
  “Line No.: 64
  Region: 2
  SH No.: 1
  Locality: Warkworth
  Section of State Highway: From 285m south of Perry Road to 715m south of Perry Road.
  Speed Limit (km/h): See Schedule 2
  New Zealand Gazette Reference: 22/6/2017, Notice No. 2017-au3083”
• Inserting line 1008A in Schedule 1 to read:
  “Line No.: 1008A
  Region: 13
  SH No.: 1
  Locality: Moeraki
  Section of State Highway: From 170m north of the intersection of State Highway 1 and Moeraki Boulders Road to 170m south of the intersection of State Highway 1 and Moeraki Boulders Road.
  Speed Limit (km/h): See Schedule 2
  New Zealand Gazette Reference: 22/6/2017, Notice No. 2017-au3083”
• Inserting a new line 64 in Schedule 2 to read:
  “Section of State Highway: From 285m south of the intersection of State Highway 1 with Perry Road to 715m south of the intersection of State Highway 1 with Perry Road.
  Speed limit: The variable speed limit may operate when a vehicle is detected approaching the intersection on Designation Road or turning right on State Highway 1 and may continue to operate until those vehicles have cleared the intersection, as specified in condition 2 of the Rural Intersection Active Warning System Variable Speed Limit – State Highway 1, Designation Road, Warkworth, New Zealand Gazette, 1 June 2017, Issue No. 58, Notice No. 2017-au2725. When a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals “70”, the speed limit is 70km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 100km/h.”
• Inserting a new line 1008A in Schedule 2 to read:
  “Section of State Highway: From 170m north of the intersection of State Highway 1 and Moeraki Boulders Road to 170m south of the intersection of State Highway 1 and Moeraki Boulders Road.
  Speed limit: The variable speed limit may operate when a vehicle is detected approaching the intersection on Moeraki Boulders Road or turning right on State Highway 1 and may continue to operate until those vehicles have cleared the intersection, as specified in condition 2 of the Rural Intersection Active Warning System Variable Speed Limit – State Highway 1, Moeraki Boulders Road Intersection, Moeraki, New Zealand Gazette, 23 February 2017, Issue No. 19, Notice No. 2017-au846. When a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals “70”, the speed limit is 70km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 100km/h.”

3. Authority to make bylaw—This bylaw was made by the National Manager Network Outcomes, Highways and Network Operations, under delegated authority of the NZ Transport Agency.
