Pursuant to sections 76 and 78 of the Racing Industry Act 2020, TAB New Zealand hereby gives notice of the following amendments to the Betting Rules published as a Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 30 April 2024, Notice No. 2024-sl1731.

These amendments to the Betting Rules are as follows:

DEFINITIONS

“Late Scratchings”, “Non-runners”, “Scratchings”, “Withdrawals” a Horse or greyhound withdrawn from a race. Horses or greyhounds withdrawn after the commencement of betting local track’s official scratching time are termed “Late Scratchings”. Scratchings (of any kind) may cause Deductions to apply (see Racing Rule 7).

1. General Betting Rules

1.7 If a match is abandoned before full time has been played, bets on the match outcome will be void, unless an official result is declared. Bets on all markets which have been unconditionally determined will stand, for example in Footballr, First Goal Scorer bets will stand if a goal has been scored. Full time is determined by the rules of the specific sport.

FIXED ODDS RACING RULES

1.1 General Determination of Results

(d) Deductions for late scratchings may be applied to fixed odds wagers, see Rule 7.

7.1 In the event of a late scratching where a deduction applies in accordance to Rule 6, subject to Rule 7.4 below, the deduction shall be applied in accordance to the Schedule of Deductions listed below.

2.3 Postponements

(a) All games must be played within one week of the scheduled calendar day (at venue) and at the scheduled venue. Otherwise, all bets on the game will be void. start on the scheduled date (local time) for bets to stand. If a game does not start on the scheduled date (local time) then all bets are void. In the event of Venue changes, all bets on the event will be void. Bets will remain valid if they have been determined at the time of abandonment or postponement.

2.22 Prop Bets

In the event of an abandoned game all stakes are returned, unless a result is already determined through the course of play that has taken place. Player prop markets involving Quarterbacks require that the player(s) in question must be the starter(s) for bets to have action. For all other player prop markets the player(s) in question must be listed as active by nfl.com/cfl.ca, for bets to have action. All proposition bets are singles only. Players listed as inactive are void. For NCAA games players must record a stat as per espn.go.com for bets to have action, if players do not record a stat then bets are void.

GENERAL RULES RELATING TO TAB TOTALISATOR RACE INVESTMENTS

21 JOKER

21.1 Joker is a feature only available in a TAB Retail Venue.

21.2 The Joker feature randomly selects a runner for a bet on behalf of the customer.

21.3 Joker, if available, may only be used to select a random runner for a tote bet.

21.4 The relevant Rules set out in this Schedule 1 apply to bets placed using Joker.

GENERAL RULES FOR CUSTOMERS

17.1 Dividends, Returns and refunds will be made for cash Investments as follows:

(a) Will be paid in cash, or may be by cheque, or electronic transfer, or by Betting Voucher as determined by us. Payment shall be in New Zealand currency. Terms and conditions of Betting Vouchers may be found in the General Terms and Conditions for TAB Accounts.

(c) Dividends, Returns or refunds not claimed withing six months of the date of the Race Meeting or Authorised Event concerned will expire and be retained by us.

18. Lost, Destroyed, Mutilated or Stolen Tickets

(f) All our decisions made in respect of claims made under this Rule will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. For clarity, we will not replace a bet ticket that was for a losing bet or does not hold any balance.

These Rules come into force on 1 August 2025.
