I give notice that, under sections 75 and 76 of the Animal Welfare Act 1999, the Code of Welfare: Deer is issued.

The Code of Welfare: Deer will come into effect on 8 September 2025 and on the same date revokes the current version of the Code of Welfare: Deer, dated 1 October 2018 (Notice No. MPI 895).

This Code is available for inspection free of charge from the Ministry for Primary Industries website, www.mpi.govt.nz, and for purchase at the office of Animal Welfare Team, Agriculture and Investment Services, Ministry for Primary Industries, Charles Fergusson Building, 38-42 Bowen Street (PO Box 2526), Wellington.
