Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Rules 2025 – Charges.
The rules come into force on 15 August 2025.
Pursuant to section 40(2)(h) of the Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Act 2002.
The Institution of Professional Engineers of New Zealand Incorporated, after complying with rule 86 of the Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Rules (No 2) 2002, makes the following rules (which, in the case of the rules containing CPEng standards, have been prepared, and approved by the Chartered Professional Engineers Council, in accordance with section 41 of that Act).
The Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Rules 2025 Schedule 2 Charges that came into force on 1 July 2025 is revoked and replaced with a new Schedule 2 – Charges.
The new Schedule 2 – Charges has a 2% increase which is considered reasonable and necessary to ensure the continued recovery of costs associated with performing the statutory functions of the Registration Authority and the Council.

The administering agency for is the Institution of Professional Engineers of New Zealand Incorporated (IPENZ) trading as Engineering New Zealand.
These rules are secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.
