Notice is given of the making of the following instrument by the Minister for Social Development and Employment.

Approval for rural assistance under Special Needs Grant Programme

This instrument, which comes into force on 28 April 2025, gives approval for payments under Part 6 of the programme to farmers affected by drought or flood or by both drought and flood in the territories of the following local authorities:

    3. Thames-Coromandel District Council:
    4. Kaipara District Council:
    5. Waikato District Council:
    6. Hauraki District Council:
    7. Matamata-Piako District Council:
    8. Waipā District Council:
    9. South Waikato District Council:
    10. Rotorua Lakes Council:
    11. Taupō District Council:
    12. Hamilton City Council:
    13. Ōtorohanga District Council:
    14. Waitomo District Council:
    15. New Plymouth District Council:
    16. Stratford District Council:
    17. South Taranaki District Council:
    18. Whanganui District Council:
    19. Ruapehu District Council:
    20. Rangitikei District Council:
    21. Manawatū District Council:
    22. Horowhenua District Council:
    23. Palmerston North City Council:
    24. Tararua District Council:
    25. Marlborough District Council:
    26. Nelson City Council:
    27. Tasman District Council.

The approval applies between 28 April 2025 and the close of 28 October 2025.

The instrument is secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019 and is administered by the Ministry of Social Development.
