Notice of Intention to Take Land for the Pages Road Bridge Renewal Project—Canterbury Land District
Notice is hereby given that the Christchurch City Council proposes to take, under the Public Works Act 1981, the land described in the below Schedule (“Land”).
The land is vacant and is required as part of the Pages Road Bridge Project for road purposes and will be declared road thereafter.
The reasons why the Christchurch City Council considers it essential to take the land are as follows:
The last known registered proprietor of the land is deceased and has no known legal representative. Notice to the owner or any successor has been served by placing public notice in The Press of the Christchurch City Council’s intention to take the land and advising of their right to object.
Any other person having the right to object may send a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Justice and Emergency Services Precinct, 20 Lichfield Street Christchurch. Postal Address: PO Box 2069, Christchurch 8013 or WX11113 Christchurch, within 20 working days of this notice.
If any objection is made in accordance with this notice a public hearing will be held with the right of the objector to appear and be heard personally unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.

The land is located to the north side of the existing Pages Road bridge, where it crosses the Otakaro/Avon River.
