Notice of Final Determination by the Minister of Conservation on an Official Crown Protected Area Name
Pursuant to section 29(2)(b) of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008 (“Act”), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (“Board”) hereby gives notice of a new Crown protected area name.
The Board did not concur with the proposal under section 27 of the Act and referred its recommendation to the Minister of Conservation for a final determination, in accordance with section 29(1) of the Act.
Having considered the Board’s recommendation, on 27 July 2024 the Minister of Conservation declared the final determination to be the official Crown protected area name as described in the Schedule below.
This decision takes effect on 20 March 2025.
