Pursuant to section 71 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Timothy Burfield King, extend the state of local emergency declared at 9.05am on 27 June 2025 for the area of Nelson City and Tasman District owing to severe weather and evacuations.

The state of local emergency is extended for seven days. It will take effect immediately from the time the initial declaration of the state of emergency (or the last extension) was to expire.
