The maize biosecurity levy was activated on 1 April 2024 to fund the arable sector’s share of costs associated with the 2022 Fall Armyworm (FAW) incursion. This targeted levy has now met its funding objective and is no longer required. We thank all contributors for their support in resolving this response.

All levies for maize transactions from 1 July 2025 onwards will be rated at zero.

Please note that the Arable Crops Biosecurity Levy will remain active. This levy is still required to meet obligations under current and future biosecurity responses.
