Pursuant to sections 142 and 143 of the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006, the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board issues the following notice to amend the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (Fees, and Disciplinary and Prosecution Levy) Notice 2023 published in the New Zealand Gazette, 18 December 2023, Notice No. 2023-gs5850.

1. Title

This notice is the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (Fees, and Disciplinary and Prosecution Levy) Amendment Notice 2025.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on 28 April 2025.

3. Principal Notice

This notice amends the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (Fees, and Disciplinary and Prosecution Levy) Notice 2023.

4. Purpose

This notice replaces the tradesman and journeyman registration class names in the Principal Notice.

5. Principal Notice Amended

(1) The term “Tradesman” in the Principal Notice is replaced by “Plumber, Gasfitter, or Drainlayer”.

(2) The term “Journeyman” in the Principal Notice is replaced by “Restricted”.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the notice and has been included to explain its general effect.

With effect from 1 April 2025, the name of the tradesman registration class will change to plumber, gasfitter, or drainlayer and the name of the journeyman registration class will change to restricted. This notice amends the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (Fees, and Disciplinary and Prosecution Levy) Notice 2023 to recognise those registration class name changes.
