This notice is made under clause 8A and in accordance with clauses 5, 6 and 7 of the Biosecurity (Border Processing Levy) Order 2015 by the Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Current Levy Period

The current levy period ends on the close of 30 June 2027 (as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 1 November 2024, No. 2024-go5538).

New Levy Period

I have decided to set a new levy period under clause 8A of the Biosecurity (Border Processing Levy) Order 2015. The new levy period commences on 1 February 2026 and ends on the close of 31 January 2028.

Levy Rates for New Levy Period

Under clause 8A and in accordance with clauses 5, 6 and 7 of the Biosecurity (Border Processing Levy) Order 2015 the levy rates for this levy period are:

1. $10.58 for a traveller who arrives in New Zealand on a cruise ship; and
2. $12.03 for all other travellers who arrive in New Zealand.

These levy rates are exclusive of goods and services tax.
