Under section 215 and clause 5 of Schedule 8 of the Education and Training Act 2020, the Minister of Education gives notice recognising the named institutions as lead providers of a secondary–tertiary programme.

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Recognition as Lead Providers of Secondary–Tertiary Programmes Notice 2025.

2. This notice comes into force on 1 January 2026.

3. Each of the following providers of secondary–tertiary programmes is recognised under clause 5 of Schedule 8 as a lead provider of those programmes:

Ara Institute of Canterbury

Eastern Institute of Technology

Manukau Institute of Technology and Unitec

Otago Polytechnic

Universal College of Learning

Waikato Institute of Technology

Southern Institute of Technology

2. The providers listed in this notice replace the New Zealand Institute of Technology (NZIST) as lead provider in respect of the relevant secondary–tertiary programmes.
