Pursuant to section 167 of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Minister for the Environment hereby gives the following notice.

1. Title and Commencement

(1) This notice may be cited as the Resource Management (Approval of MHV Water Limited as a Requiring Authority) Notice 2025.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the seventh day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Approval as a Requiring Authority

MHV Water Limited is approved as a requiring authority under section 167(3)(b) of the Resource Management Act 1991 in respect of the particular network utility operation of:

1. distribution (including associated diversion, intake, conveyance, storage and discharge) of water through the water networks in the Mayfield Hinds Irrigation Scheme and Valetta Irrigation Scheme; and
2. associated use, erection, reconstruction, placement, alteration, extension, removal or demolition of any structure in, on, or over the land (within the meaning of the Resource Management Act 1991) in respect of the distribution of water for supply (including irrigation in the Mayfield Hinds and Valetta areas); and
3. the operation, maintenance, expansion and development of the irrigation schemes known as the Mayfield Hinds Irrigation Scheme and the Valetta Irrigation Scheme, respectively located generally in the Mayfield Hinds and Valetta areas between the Rangitata and Rakaia Rivers.
