Pursuant to section 9 of the Law Commission Act 1985 and section 28 of the Crown Entities Act 2004, Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint:

Dr Mark Christopher Winston Hickford, barrister of Wellington

as a member of the Law Commission for a term of five years, and further appointing the said Dr Hickford as President of the Law Commission for a term of six months, both appointments commencing on 3 November 2025.
