Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product (Notice No. MPI ACVM 100)

Notice is given under section 14(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (“Act”), of the following application to register a trade name product under section 9(1) of the Act:

Trade Name: TURBO B12 Se INJECTION for Cattle and Sheep

Reference: A012220

Active Ingredients and Concentrations:

10g/L Eprinomectin, 10g/L Ivermectin and 318g/L Levamisole Phosphate with 4g/L selenium and 2g/L vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin)

Formulation Type: Aqueous solution

Application method/administration route:
Cattle: 1ml/50kg body weight (0.2mg eprinomectin, 0.2mg ivermectin, 6.37mg levamisole phosphate, 0.04mg vitamin B12 and 0.08mg selenium / kg body weight) by subcutaneous injection in the anterior half of the neck.

Sheep: 0.1ml/5kg body weight (0.2mg eprinomectin, 0.2mg ivermectin, 6.37mg levamisole phosphate, 0.04mg vitamin B12 and 0.08mg selenium / kg body weight) by subcutaneous injection in the anterior half of the neck.

Use Claim:

For the treatment and control of internal and external parasites of cattle and sheep. Also provides a supplemental source of selenium and vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin).

Indications: For the effective treatment and control of susceptible strains of the following internal and external parasites;

Cattle

Gastrointestinal roundworms: Adult and immature Small brown stomach worm* (Ostertagia ostertagi, Ostertagia lyrata), Barber’s pole worm (Haemonchus spp), Stomach hair worm (Trichostrongylus axei), Black scour worm (Trichostrongylus longispicularis) adults only, Small intestinal worm (Cooperia oncophora, Cooperia punctata), Hookworm (Bunostomum phlebotomum), Nodular worm (Oesophagostomum radiatum) adults only, Thin-necked intestinal worm (Nematodirus helvetianus) adults only, Whipworm (Trichuris spp) adults only. *including inhibited immature.

Lungworms: Adult and immature Dictyocaulus viviparus.

Sucking lice: Linognathus vituli.

Sheep

Gastrointestinal roundworms: For the treatment and control of the following mature and immature gastrointestinal parasites: Barbers pole worm (Haemonchus spp), Brown stomach worms (Teladorsagia circumcincta and Teladorsagia trifurcata), Stomach hair worm (Trichostrongylus axei), Thin-necked intestinal worms (Nematodirus Spathiger and Nematodirus filicollis), Black scour worms (Trichostrongylus colubriformis and Trichostrongylus vitrinus), Small intestinal worm (Cooperia curtecei), Large-mouth bowel worm (Chabertia ovina), Whipworms (Trichuris spp), Nodular worm (Oesophagostomum venulosum), Threadworm (Strongyloides papillosus).

Lungworm: Adult and immature Dictyocaulus filaria.

Any person may make a written submission to the Director-General concerning this application.

Under sections 16 and 17 of the Act, a written submission:

  1. must state in full the reasons for making the submission;
  2. may state any decision sought on that application; and
  3. must be received by the Director-General no later than 30 working days after the date of this notice / after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Each submission must state the trade name product(s) to which it relates. Under section 18 of the Act, a copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant.
