Pursuant to sections 190, 204 and 205 of the Education and Training Act 2020 (“Act”), I hereby establish Te Pā Wānanga located at Ōmaka Marae, 120 Aerodrome Road, Burleigh, Blenheim, a Year 1–8 kura, and designate the kura as a designated character school under sections 204 and 205 of the Act.

The designated character of the school will be Māori immersion and embracing Mātauranga Māori – Māori knowledge and ways of knowing and learning drawn from traditions, values, concepts, philosophies, world views and understandings derived from their uniquely Kurahaupō and Te Tauihu cultural/tikanga context.

The constitution of the Board will be a standard constitution under section 119 of the Act.

Under section 205(4) of the Act, I name Ōmaka Marae as having a special affiliation with the school and responsibility for the different character of the school.
