Pursuant to section 190(1) of the Education and Training Act 2020 (“Act”), I hereby establish Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngā Papaonekura at 38 Park Estate Road, Papakura, a Year 1–13 co-educational composite wharekura, and designate it as a Kura Kaupapa Māori under section 201(1) of the Act.

Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngā Papaonekura will operate in accordance with Te Aho Matua.

Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngā Papaonekura will operate with the following aims, purposes and objectives which will together constitute the special characteristics of the school:

• development of learners’ knowledge of Ngaati Tamaoho, Kingitanga, matawaka and Te Aho Matua
• retention of the aspirations of the kaumatua and kuia of Ngaati Tamaoho and revitalisation of the customs and tradition knowledge of its hapu
• enhancement and maintenance of tribal dialects through a dedicated curriculum grounded in Te Aho Matua, Ngaati Tamaoho tikanga and Mātauranga.

The constitution of the Board will be standard constitution under section 119 of the Act.
