Under section 212M of the Education and Training Act 2020, I hereby notify that the Charter School Agency, acting in the name and on behalf of the Crown, and Te Tuara have entered into a contract for the establishment of TIPENE as a charter school.

The sponsor of the charter school is Te Tuara Trust, and the school is located at 1832 Great South Road, Bombay, Auckland.

The school will be a secondary, Year 9–13 single sex (boys) school. It will open with Years 9–11 in 2025.

Education will be delivered on site.

The charter school will operate with the distinguishing character of “a boys school with TIPENE pedagogy/ Kaupapa Māori.”
