Under section 212M of the Education and Training Act 2020, I hereby notify that the Charter School Agency, acting in the name and on behalf of the Crown, and Te Rito Limited have entered into a contract for the establishment of Te Rito, Te Kura Taiao as a charter school.

The sponsor of the charter school is Te Rito Limited, and the school will be located at 19 Walters Way, Cable Bay, Far North 0420.

The school will be a primary Years 1–8, co-educational school. It will open with Years 1–7 in 2025.

Education will be delivered on site.

The charter school will operate with the distinguishing character of “full immersion in te reo Māori as principal language of instruction and within a kaupapa Māori setting”.
