As the Minister for Biosecurity, I declare the adverse event of the presence of West Indian drywood termite (Cryptotermes brevis) found in Auckland to be a special emergency, for a period of two years until 31 July 2027 under section 49B of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996.
