Variation of a Scheduled International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 184(6) of the Civil Aviation Act 2023, and in accordance with section 58(1) and clauses 2 and 4 of Schedule 6 of the Public Service Act 2020, and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 31 March 2025, I give notice that, further to an application received from China Southern Airlines, I have varied the routes and capacity sections in the Scheduled International Air Service Licence held by that airline as follows (the italicised text shows the variations made):

Routes and Capacity

The licensee may carry on scheduled international air services in both directions on the routes listed below and with the capacity stated:

Routes

  1. For passenger/combination and code-share services: From points in China, optionally via points in Australia, to points in New Zealand.
  2. For cargo-only services: From points in China, optionally via intermediate points, to points in New Zealand and optionally to beyond points.

Capacity

  1. For own-aircraft passenger/combination services: up to 21 return services per week with any aircraft type.
  2. For cargo-only services: as filed with and acknowledged by the Secretary for Transport.
  3. For code-share services (where China Southern Airlines is the marketing carrier): as filed with and acknowledged by the Secretary for Transport.

The variation will take effect on 29 July 2025.
