On 15 December 2025 the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) revoked approval HSR000646 for Wettable powder containing 750 g/kg chlorthal-dimethyl (chlorthal-dimethyl containing substances).

Pursuant to section 66 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the EPA directs that:

  1. from the date of this notice, the use of chlorthal-dimethyl containing substances is prohibited; and
  2. within 6 months from the date of this notice, chlorthal-dimethyl containing substances must be disposed of, at the owner’s expense, and in accordance with the Hazardous Substances (Disposal) Notice 2017.
