The Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives public notice under section 173(2) of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (“Act”) that it has made amendments to the Fibre Information Disclosure Determination 2021 [2021] NZCC 24 (“Principal Determination”).

The amendments are set out in the Fibre Information Disclosure (2025 Project) Amendment Determination 2025 [2025] NZCC 29 (“Fibre ID Amendment Determination”) and come into effect either on 1 January 2026 or from the first day of the respective regulated provider’s disclosure year in 2026.

Summary of Amendments to Principal Determination

The amendments to the principal determination:

  1. reflect stakeholder feedback on our draft decision reasons paper for the Fibre ID Amendment Determination;
  2. make consequential changes arising from changes to formulas in the input methodologies;
  3. correct errors in definitions and templates;
  4. are mainly technical in nature and are intended to reduce uncertainty; and
  5. align reporting across the regulated providers.
