Under section 52Q of the Commerce Act 1986 (“Act”) the Commerce Commission gives notice that it has amended the Electricity Distribution Services Default Price-Quality Path Determination [2024] NZCC 28.

The amendment is set out in the Electricity Distribution Services Default Price-Quality Path (Aurora transition) Amendment Determination 2025 [2025] NZCC 28 (“DPP Amendment Determination”).

The DPP Amendment Determination comes into force on 1 April 2026.

The DPP Amendment Determination makes Aurora Energy Limited (“Aurora”) subject (from 1 April 2026) to the default price-quality path that generally applies to regulated electricity distribution businesses. Aurora is subject to a customised price-quality path until 31 March 2026.
