The Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives public notice under section 180 of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (“Act”) that it has amended the Fibre Input Methodologies Determination 2020 [2020] NZCC 21 (“Fibre IMs”), which apply to fibre fixed line access services. The amendments are secondary legislation made under Part 6 of the Act and the Legislation Act 2019.

The amendments are set out in the Fibre Input Methodologies (Crown Financing and Individual Capex Design Proposal) Amendment Determination 2024 [2024] NZCC 29 (“amendment determination”).

The amendment determination comes into force on 21 November 2024 and amends the timing and calculation of the annual benefit of Crown financing and extends the timeframe for approving an individual capex design proposal in the Fibre IMs.
