Under regulation 8(5) of the Education (When State Schools Must Be Open and Closed) Regulations 2024, I specify the following circumstances in which boards may close the schools they administer for the remainder of the 2024 school year.

In each individual case the circumstances are:

• The Board has notified the school community of the intended closing for instruction prior to start of Term 3 2024, and
• The Board can still meet the minimum number of half-days its school is required to be open for instruction in the 2024 school year under regulation 6.

This notice is secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.
