Under Regulation 66 of the Land Transport (Motor Vehicle Registration and Licensing) Regulations 2011, the Registrar of Motor Vehicles gives the following notice considering that it would help to implement a system that promotes efficient compliance with a land transport Act.

1. Title

This notice is the Land Transport (Motor Vehicle Registration and Licensing) Regulations 2011: Fee Waiver for Users of NZTA App Class Waiver Notice 2024.

2. Commencement

The notice takes effect on 25 July 2024.

3. Application

This notice applies to any person making a request for information to the Registrar in relation to a specified motor vehicle through the NZTA app.

4. Class Waiver

Any fee payable under Regulation 66(1) or (2) of the Regulations is waived for the class of people to whom this notice applies.

5. Interpretation

In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires—

the Act means the Land Transport Act 1998

the Registrar means the Registrar of Motor Vehicles appointed under section 233 of the Land Transport Act 1998.

the Regulations means the Land Transport (Motor Vehicle Registration and Licensing) Regulations 2011.

the NZTA app means the mobile application created and provided by the NZ Transport Agency for the purposes of facilitating a person’s compliance with land transport Acts, including allowing the person to view and manage driver licence and motor vehicle licence information.
