Notice is given of the making of the following instrument by the Minister of Housing.

This instrument, which comes into force on 1 July 2024, revokes and replaces the Housing Support Programme to expand financial assistance for accommodation related costs to people with accommodation agreements that the Residential Tenancies Act 1986 does not apply to. The instrument extends the eligibility of assistance for moving costs, accommodation costs in advance, and accommodation costs in arrears, and introduces a new grant of Accommodation Security Cover.

The instrument is secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019 and is administered by the Ministry of Social Development.
