This notice notifies the making and publication on 23 May 2024 of the following secondary legislation under section 146 of the Water Services Act 2021 (“Act”) by the Chief Executive of Taumata Arowai—the Water Services Regulator (“Taumata Arowai”), acting under delegated authority:

• Environmental Performance Measures Record-Keeping Requirements for Drinking Water and Wastewater Network Operators Notice 2024 (“notice”).

Notice Details

1. Publication of Secondary Legislation

The notice can be viewed on the Taumata Arowai website at https://www.taumataarowai.govt.nz.

2. Purpose

The purpose of the notice is to require drinking water and wastewater network operators to keep and maintain records relating to compliance with environmental performance measures for networks published under section 145 of the Water Services Act 2021 on 14 May 2024.

3. Empowering Provision

Water Services Act 2021, section 146(1).

4. Commencement

The notice comes into force on 1 July 2024.

5. Administering Agency

Taumata Arowai is the administering agency for the notice.

6. Secondary Legislation

The notice is secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.
