Pursuant to section 68 of the Civil Defence Emergency Act 2002 I, Bryan Alexander Cadogan, declare that a state of emergency exists in Clutha District owing to the closure of State Highway 1 and the overwhelming of services.

The state of emergency can come into force immediately on the making of this declaration and expires seven days after the time and date on which it comes into force (unless extended or terminated at an earlier time).
