Pursuant to section 71 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Robin Hugh Scott, extend the state of local emergency declared at 10.50am on 8 February 2024, extended 14 February 2024 at 8.40am, extended 20 February 2024 at 8.14am, extended 26 February 2024 at 7.00am, extended 3 March 2024 at 7.00am and further extended 10 March 2024 at 7.00am for the Waiau Aparima Ward owing to erosion to foreshore threatening persons and property.

The state of local emergency is extended for seven days. It will take effect immediately from the time the initial declaration of state of emergency (or the last extension) was to expire.
