Notice of End of Process for Making and Determining Victims’ Claims
Pursuant to subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“Act”), compensation awarded to Jacob Graham; Andrew Rex Graham; Jacob Karani Graham; John Tarakana Grey; Jake Graham; Jacob Tarani Graham paid to the Secretary for Justice and after making any deductions, the surplus remaining was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on on behalf of Jacob Graham; Andrew Rex Graham; Jacob Karani Graham; John Tarakana Grey; Jake Graham; Jacob Tarani Graham to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.
From 23 February 2024 notice was given by publication in the New Zealand Gazette, on the website of the Ministry of Justice and on 23 February 2024 in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin of the sum of the money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.
The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all or the last of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Jacob Graham; Andrew Rex Graham; Jacob Karani Graham; John Tarakana Grey; Jake Graham; Jacob Tarani Graham in accordance with Subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.
