Tariff (Statistical Requirements) Amendment Notice (No. 2) 2024

Pursuant to section 10(2) of the Tariff Act 1988, and acting under delegated authority from the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs through the Chief Executives of the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment, and the New Zealand Customs Service, the Customs Technical Specialist (Trade, Revenue and Compliance Group) gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title – This notice is the Tariff (Statistical Requirements) Amendment Notice (No. 2) 2024.

2. Commencement – This notice comes into effect on 1 January 2025.

3. Certain statistical keys of certain Tariff items amended – The Tariff is hereby amended by revoking the statistical key codes represented by Tariff items and codes 0810.50.00.29F, 2909.30.00.00D, 2915.90.00.19A, 2934.99.00.17B, 2939.80.00.10A, 3002.49.00.00K, 3002.90.00.02C, 3002.90.00.05H, 3002.90.00.08B and 3002.90.00.30J and substituting these with the statistical key codes specified in the Schedule to this Notice in the appropriate numerical and alphabetical order..

Explanatory Note

This notice amends the statistical key codes, unit and description of the Tariff items specified in this notice.

These amendments support more granular identification of specific goods (for example: red fleshed kiwifruit) and also relate to products subject to World Customs Organisation (WCO) recommendations for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (specific chemicals and preparations) and the Rotterdam Convention (specific chemical compounds).
