Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product (Notice No. MPI ACVM 29)

Notice is given under section 14(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (“Act”), of the following application to register a trade name product under section 9(1) of the Act:

Trade Name: Felpreva Spot-On for Cats

Reference: A012119

Active Ingredients and Concentrations:

97.90mg/ml Tigolaner, 81.40mg/ml Praziquantel, 20.35mg/ml Emodepside

Formulation Type: Spot-On solution

Application method/administration route:

Topical administration, spot on formulation in 3 pipette sizes

Use Claim:

Treatment and prevention of fleas for 13 weeks. Treats and controls paralysis ticks for 13 weeks. Treats ear mites. Treats and controls roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, and lungworm. Controls flea allergy dermatitis. Three monthly topical treatment.

Other information:

Paralysis ticks not present in New Zealand. Ticks are killed within 48 hours after product administration. Reduces the incidence of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) by controlling adult fleas. Treatment and control of ear mites (Otodectes cynotis, Notoedres cati). Treatment and control of intestinal worms including: Roundworms – mature, immature and larval (L3 and L4) stages of Toxocara cati, and immature, immature and larval (L4) stages of Toxascaris leonina. Hookworms – mature, immature and larval (L4) stages of Ancylostoma tubaeforme and Ancylostoma ceylanicum. Tapeworms – mature and immature stages of Dipylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis. Lungworm – mature stages of Aelurostrongylus abstrusus.

Any person may make a written submission to the director-general concerning this application.

Under sections 16 and 17 of the Act, a written submission:

  1. must state in full the reasons for making the submission;
  2. may state any decision sought on that application; and
  3. must be received by the director-general no later than 30 working days after the date of this notice.

Each submission must state the trade name product(s) to which it relates. Under section 18 of the Act, a copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant.
