Fisheries (Notification of Notifying Authority for Area/Rohe Moana of Ngāti Hinewaka) Notice 2024 (Notice No. MPI 1846)
Pursuant to regulation 9 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries gives the following notice.
This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Notifying Authority for Area/Rohe Moana of Ngāti Hinewaka) Notice 2024.
This notice comes into force on 7 June 2024.
This notice applies to the customary food gathering area/rohe moana defined by clause 2(e) of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 4) 2006 (No. F382), which is an area beginning three kilometres northeast of the Pahaoa River mouth and extending to Windy Point.
The tangata whenua of the area/rohe moana is Ngāti Hinewaka me Ōna Hapū Kāranga Charitable Trust.
The notifying authority previously known as Ngāti Hinewaka me Ōna Kārangaranga Charitable Trust is now Ngāti Hinewaka me Ōna Hapū Kāranga Charitable Trust.
