Under sections 198(1) and (3) of the Education and Training Act 2020, I redesignate Te Kura o Te Wainui-ā-Rua (559), a Year 1–8 full primary kura, as a Year 1–13 composite wharekura from Term 3, 2024.

The change in classification will be phased in with the wharekura offering education for Year 1–10 from Term 3, 2024, and Year 1–13 from 2025.

Pursuant to sections 200, 204 and 205 of the Education and Training Act 2020. I hereby designate Te Kura o Te Wainui-ā-Rua (559) as a designated character school. The designated character of the kura will be providing education in te reo Māori and its culture, philosophy and practices will reflect the context of the Whanganui River | Te Awa Tupua.

This designation will take effect from Term 3, 2024.
