I, William Perry, Deputy Comptroller of Customs acting pursuant to section 55 of the Customs and Excise Act 2018, hereby designate as a Customs airport the airport operated by Hawkes Bay Airport Limited. I hereby further impose the following conditions and restrictions on that designation:

  1. The arrival into and departure from New Zealand of aircraft at this airport shall be limited to:
    1. non-scheduled passenger flights with a maximum of 14 passengers and crew only, to the exclusion of air freight operations; and
    2. medical flights, including flights carried out by air ambulances and flights carried out by medical staff transporting donor organs.
  2. Customs Controlled Area licensees operating aircraft services at Hawkes Bay Airport must obtain Customs’ prior approval for any flight arriving in or departing from New Zealand at Hawkes Bay Airport. Any licensee seeking Customs’ approval for an arrival or departure must give at least five days’ written notice to Customs in seeking such approval.
